MISSION

--- Encourage parent and community involvement in our school.
--- Improve and enhance communications between Sierra Verde School and DVUSD Administration and Staff and the Parents and Students of our community
--- Assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
--- Support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children.


GOALS
1. Communications:
Written: Champs Chat Line Newsletter, Marquee: Class Display Cases PTSA, Application: Survey, PTSA Web page, Verbal: Monthly Meetings, Faculty Meetings, Back to School Night

2. Parenting Skills Supported:
Parent Workshops, Parent Library, Parenting info in Chat Line Newsletter and Muffins with Mom, Doughnuts with Dad.

3. Parents Assist Student Learning:
Fundraising including Gift and Wrap sale, Spring Talent showcase and Silent Auction, and passive fundraisers to support mini grants for teachers and principal, community service projects, new books and software, digital cameras for the classrooms, plus more!

4. School Decision Making and Policy:
Educate and inform parents about District and State educational issues. Support communication between Administration, Teachers and Parents.

5. Collaborating With Community:
Reflections Art Contest, Open House Booths for community service organizations like the Scouts and Library, plus Corporate Sponsors and grants.
